Club History

Maleny Rangers Football Club was formed in 1995 via the amalgamation of the Maleny Rangers Soccer Club (seniors) and Maleny Churches Panthers Soccer Club (juniors). The club was established to provide opportunities for participation in football by people of all ages and abilities.

The club has always operated from the Maleny Showgrounds, where it shares facilities with a range of other user groups. Since its establishment, Maleny Rangers Soccer Club has experienced numerous successes, including multiple premierships and grand final wins. In 2003, the club’s Under 15 team travelled to Vanuatu to participate in the South Pacific Challenge and was the only team from Queensland to take part. More than a dozen of the club’s players have been selected to play in representative football teams.

It has produced many representative players and has won a number of championships throughout various age groups. In 2009 four of our teams made the semi finals which was our best result ever. The Club has a brand new committee for 2010 and they are full of enthusiasm and fresh ideas which will keep the club growing and retain the success experienced in previous years. 2010 is a world cup year and with Australia having qualified there will be strong growth in local participation. With the success of the Small Sided Football format the sport continues to grow at a rapid rate.

The club promotes a fun, safe and fair environment to ensure all players, parents, coaches, officials and administrators enjoy their sporting experience and stay involved. The club operates according to the principles of the Queensland Government’s ‘True Sport Lives Here’ campaign.
