And so the semis began. With our U14G having to borrow 4 players from the U12G due to injuries and having a 3pm game, we knew we were in for a good battle.

Beegees came out firing with their first goal scored within minutes of the game commencing, to be followed by another. Soon it was 3-0, but our girls weren’t going to let it go there! With a fabulous team effort, that began with Cara and ended with Summer scoring, we were on the board!

Another more confusing goal then came our way, (still unsure if we scored or if it was an own goal), and it was 3 – 2! Unfortunately Beegees scored another goal and the wind began to come out of our sails. The girls still didn’t give up and Austyn made many very impressive goal saves but Beegees cemented their win to end the match with a 5 – 2 score. We do have another chance next Saturday and would love support from our Maleny supporters to cheer us on and then hopefully we can get another game against Beegees with a different outcome! Well done girls, you are doing us proud.

Strange game today. With no reserves and two disallowed goals, our Maleny U14girls couldn’t find their mojo.

With numerous attempts at goal, the end score was 2-1 to Maleny against a well playing Coolum; this cements our place as second on the ladder coming into the finals.

Well done girls, this is a fantastic season result! Player of the match was Sophie Fowler and the Encouragement award went to Luci Coey.

And we’re back! The U14G once again provided us all with an exhibition of fabulous team work to end with a 4 nil win over NYU.

With the goals being set up and scored by both our strikers, and the mids and defence controlling their ground, it was great to watch.

One game to go until the finals, very exciting times ahead!

There was much anticipation about the number 1 and 2 teams meeting so near the finals. The tempo was fast and furious for the first 20mins with great skills displayed by both teams and despite some chances the game was close. As the game progressed however Beegees got the upper hand and consolidated their position. The girls are hopeful for a rematch in the finals.

An unseasonably hot day combined with an under strength Maleny side (one player short – no reserves) saw the girls looking like they had run a marathon at half time. The girls kept the pressure on however for a very good result considering the conditions. Encouragement – Jacana Bright. Player of the Week – Ruby Scott and Hayley Venturini.

Once again family and spectators were in for a treat of exhibition soccer. Our Maleny U14girls played a strong cohesive game against CSPU that shows the final is within reach.

Down players and thus borrowing from the U12G to give us a full team, we had an amazing McGladrigan family goal, followed up by a group effort goal in the second half.
