U13B Div2 Maleny 0 v CSPU 1

This was the last match of the season for U13B and they went out firing. There was some good passing and defence work happening and some good opportunities to score, unfortunately the strong, gusty conditions didn’t favour Maleny. Tai, still injured, was there to cheer his team mates on. Thanks to Matty, Caelen and Oliver for playing up again.

U13B Div2 Maleny 1 v Bribie 4

With Tai injured on the sideline and Thomas injured on the field, the boys were not able to hold off an in form Bribie at their 2nd meeting on Saturday. Luke took home the Award this week for his strong play and ‘never-give-up’ attitude. A nice goal from Troy which was set up beautifully by Niky. Just one more match to go this season, at home vs CSPU next Saturday.

U13B Div 2 Maleny 1 v Beegees 1

Under cool, sunny conditions, the U13’s took to the field against Beegees, hoping for a positive result, having been beaten at their last meeting. The boys played great football with plenty of passing in a fast paced match but at half-time Beegees were leading 1 – 0. After the break, Maleny came out even more determined to pull off victory and a goal early in the second half, set up beautifully by Frazer and put away by Danyon, gave them cause for celebration. Both teams fought hard to secure a second goal but good defence work kept the final score to a 1-all draw. Awards this week went to Liam, Snowy & Niky. Great match boys!

U13B Div2 Maleny 0 v Maroochydore 3

A tough match played under unseasonably warm conditions. The U13′s went out firing with only 1 sub (thank Matty for coming along from U12′s once again) but felt the heat in the second half. It was a hard fought match with injuries to both sides, unfortunately Maleny didn’t have the subs to cover this and with Thomas on the bench with a knee injury the rest of the team played on limping or not. Outstanding play by Luke saw him take home the Player of the Week award and Frazer got the Encouragement award for his tireless efforts. Well done boys, a great effort from all of you.

U13boys Div 2 Maleny 2 Buderim 10

A brave effort by an undermanned U13’s on Saturday saw them beaten by a strong Buderim side. Maleny played the match with only 10 players but couldn’t match Buderim. Player awards were given to Danyon, Aiden & Alistair. Aiden scored Maleny’s 2 goals. Better luck next time!

U13boys Div2 Maleny 1 Noosa 3 Congratulations to the U13’s who played an awesome match against the top team in the division. The cold, wet conditions didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit as the boys lined up for their second meeting with Noosa. Due to some impressive passing by our boys and a great shot from Niky over the keepers head, Maleny were 1-0 up at half-time. In the second half Noosa showed why they remain unbeaten at the top of the table, with accurate passing and shots resulting in 3 goals. All players should be commended on a top game. No awards were given this week as everyone played an outstanding game. Keep up the great work boys!

Chelsea FC comes to Maleny!

Last week seventeen boys and girls from Maleny Rangers U12 to U14 teams were treated to an intensive 4 day skills clinic, run by international coaches from Chelsea FC. This was a great opportunity for some of our junior players to improve and develop their football skills right here on the Range. All players took home a Chelsea FC T-shirt and participation certificate along with their new skills. Thanks to Scott Whitaker for organizing and helping to run this clinic.

Grammar 6 – Maleny 2 This was U13’s second encounter against a strong Grammar side. Both teams played excellent football but in the end Grammar took the match 6-2. Bodhi and Thomas were tireless in defence, earning them this week’s player awards; Niky, once again, played a great game in goal. Nice passing and team work from Troy and Dan resulted in Maleny’s 2 goals (scored by Troy). A huge thankyou to Oliver and Caelen, from U12B, for coming to join our team after their own match in Caboolture. Great football by ALL the players, everyone deserved an award!

Match Report Sat 19 Jun – U13B

Maleny vs. Caboolture MAL 1 – CAB 5

This was the second meeting with Caboolture and Maleny was hoping for a win after their previous defeat. An early goal from Niky in the first half was cause for celebration but Caboolture evened the score and at half time it was 1- 1. Despite some good passing from Maleny in the second half they couldn’t break through Caboolture’s defence. Dan worked hard in goal but Caboolture put four more into the net and the final score stood at Caboolture 5 – Maleny 1. Player awards this week went to Aiden and Dan.
