Chelsea FC comes to Maleny!

Last week seventeen boys and girls from Maleny Rangers U12 to U14 teams were treated to an intensive 4 day skills clinic, run by international coaches from Chelsea FC. This was a great opportunity for some of our junior players to improve and develop their football skills right here on the Range. All players took home a Chelsea FC T-shirt and participation certificate along with their new skills. Thanks to Scott Whitaker for organizing and helping to run this clinic.

Congratulations to all our U12′s players for Saturdays great game. We were up against a much improved Caboolture team from the last time we met early in the season and were also 3 players down due to holidays so we had our work cut out for us. To the teams credit we played like demons strung together some well coordinated team moves and plays and had a never give up attitude. Man of the match today went to Aidan Lanham. Final score Maleny 1 Caboolture 3

Woombye on tuesday saw the boys playing under lights in our first night match. Harrison Bojack took out our man of the match for the game with some rock solid defence and great setting up play. Maleny 1 Woombye 0.

Cooroora on Saturday was played on a very wet and slippery field. Man of the match went to Caelen Dwyer for great goalkeeping in the first half and good attacking play out in the field in the second half. Maleny 1 Cooroora 2

Coolum 2 – Maleny 0. U12′s boys came up against Coolum on Saturday. Our team played excellently against the top side in our draw and special mention goes to Bailey Lowe-Woodward for Man of Match and also Caelen Dwyer who played an inspiring game as goalkeeper.

Yes, we are talking about “The” Chelsea Football Club from London, and there is a great opportunity for the young soccer players of Maleny to participate in a special soccer training course in Maleny, provided we can get the numbers.

Chelsea FC have developed one of the most respected professional camp programs in Europe. Chelsea FC have now teamed-up with ‘Football Coaching International’ to deliver high quality Academy & Developments Camps for junior players, where maximum development becomes the by product of creating a positive and safe learning environment.

The Development Camps will be run from Monday 28 June until Thursday 1 July from 1:30 – 4:30pm. If we can get 12 players from Maleny, a clinic will be able to run at our very own ground.

At the moment we are offering the course to all players from U12 to U14 Girls and Boys teams.

The cost of the course is $190 per player, however if we get the numbers we will also get a 10% discount which will mean the cost will be $170, furthermore the club is proposing to run fundraising activities to give the first 12 players registered a further $40 discount, reducing the cost to $130, so now is the time to act.

All players will receive:
· Qualified Chelsea coaching staff
· Chelsea FC Camp T-Shirt
· Chelsea FC Certificate and Medal
· FCI Skills and Speed Testing Certificate
· Talent Identification Programs for all ages and levels
· A unique 12 hours of football education from one of the worlds leading clubs.
