U16G Maleny 7 v Coolum 0
Maleny had a grand finish to the soccer season on Saturday, at Maleny’s home ground, with a 7-0 victory over Coolum; this cements their place in the semi-finals.
The team were a little rattled by the late start to the game but made a comeback in the first half with Chloe Fuller scoring the 1st goal. Coolum fought hard but failed to put a score on the board.
In the second half Inca Hohn (alias red frog warrior) unleashed the beast and scored a hat trick. Shannon Jones blasted a ball in the net to score another of her famous goals from outside the area. Chloe Fuller shot another outstanding strike on the run and the final blow was dealt by Hannah Forbes as she was unleashed into the forwards for a shot at goal; the Coolum keeper tried to save it but came off second best with a blow to her shoulder.
Best player was awarded to Inca Hohn and Encouragement award went to Shannon Jones for her consistent play and lightning save in front of the goal box. Great effort girls, we are very proud of you.
