Match Report Sat 22 May – U14G

Beegees 1 v Maleny 0. Wow! Tough! Talented! Exciting! Just a few superlatives that spring to mind. Our Maleny U14 Girls were up against the top team in their draw and very nearly caused an upset. To see our girls lift as one and take it to a hard tackling team was a sight to behold. The overall skills shown by the girls made for a heart in the mouth afternoon for players and spectators alike. After a couple of less intense games, the girls have shown that they are here to win and really can do it. Caitlin Ruddle was awarded Player of the Match for intense tackling, big saving kicks and for generally reading the game well and thus putting herself into positions to help out the rest of the team. The Encouragement Award was taken this week by Lilly Hamilton-Delmas, who proved that tenacity in tackling and following up on your shots as well as quick passing to team mates is what it’s all about. Thank you girls, you should all be very proud of yourselves and how you performed today.
