Well this was it, the day of the final had finally come and Maleny didn’t disappoint! The boys went out firing and just didn’t let up. It was a carnival atmosphere with a cheer-squad on the side-line. The U11’s went out to win and that’s just what they did; not without a fight though with Buderim Black living up to it’s reputation as a tough team to beat. Great work from every player gave Maleny the upper hand and they finally scored a goal through  and sheer doggedness and great team-work. Everyone had their heart in their mouth as we waited for the final whistle, but Maleny hung on to win the Grand Final trophy for 2008. The final score was 1-0. Bradley and Troy won the awards for their magnificent defence work throughout the match. Congratulations to all the Under 11 players and their coaches, Daryl and River, for an outstanding season and thanks to all who came and cheered the boys on!
