The Under 11’s lost on Saturday, for only the second time this season, against a strong Coolum side. Maleny were a little ‘flat’ during the first half and only one goal was scored(by Coolum) when it  skimmed high into the net with our goalie just getting his fingertips to it. The second half saw Maleny pick up a level with better marking, passing and calling. Kieran stuck to his man like ’superglue’ and Banu worked the field beautifully. Coolum scored a second ‘finger-skimming’ goal to go to a 2-0 lead, but Maleny meant business and came back with a super goal from Ari, quickly followed by a second, also from Ari, to level the game at 2-all; but when the second goal was dis-allowed the game ended with a final score of 2-1 to Coolum. It was great to have Aiden back on the field, after he’d been out of action because of sickness; Bradley was unwell but didn’t let his team down; and Beau was ‘a bit’ late  but made up for it when he got there. Great effort Maleny! Congratulations to Banu and Kieran who took home this week’s awards.
