A home game for the Under 11’s against a very strong NYU team. Maleny started slowly and were outplayed by NYU in the first half; the half-time score stood at nil-all. A (quiet) pep-talk from River ( who should have been resting at home) got them moving in the second half and they woke up. NYU scored first, the ball just skimming under the top bar and into goal. Maleny had luck on their side when NYU scored an own-goal, shortly after which Ari scored for Maleny to put them in front. NYU never gave up and it looked as if they would score again but good defence held them off and at full-time the score was 2-1 in Maleny’s favour. Awards this week went to Aiden and Danyon.
