On Saturday 26th of April, Coolum Maroon took on the Maleny u/13 girls at Maleny. It was a fine sunny day and the field looked magnificent as both teams prepared for a hard battle. The match opened at a fast pace and the ball moved quickly from end to end as each side tried to gain the opening goal advantage. India and Emma covered lots of ground as they raced from attack to defence. As halftime approached a fantastic shot from Mary-Anne landed in the back of the net and minutes later Ruby scored another great goal to give Maleny a 2 - 0 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same as shot after shot was saved and both teams defences remained solid. Coolum did not give up and a very good effort from all the Maleny girls enabled them to earn a 2 - 0 victory.
