A spectacular defensive effort by the Maleny “Raunchy” Rangers Ladies had the highly rated Caloundra United frustrated and unable to set up many scoring opportunities. The ever reliable Kate was unyeilding in goals and strongly supported by Stephanie and Lisa in staunch defence to restrict Caloundra to long shots from well outside the box. The Rangers midfeild juggernauts of Alex, Joelle and Anne-Mette set up many forceful attacking raids coupled with their never say die attitude forms a midfield many a team would be proud to have. Hard work in pressuring opposition defence by Maleny forwards Megan and Annie had Caloundra resorting to back passes and long clearing kicks to get out of their half. A strong performance as a team ensures that the Rangers will continue to improve and trouble many of their more fancied opponents.
